Well, it’s Monday, time for Project Optimism, and I’ve got nothing. Right? What did I say on Friday? That I’d be kicking myself today.
I’ve spent the last couple days thinking about what makes me optimistic this week. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a few good things going on, but not enough to make a post about.
And people seem to be in a weird place today. Here’s some highlights from my Monday morning twitter feed:
Here’s something from facebook:
So, with inspiration from nowhere, I decided to just list the things that are motivating me this week.
This week, I’m going to:
- Make some visible progress on my sitcom writing;
- Perform improv live on stage for the first time;
- See some far more talented improvisers perform;
- Sing karaoke; and
- Eat and drink while some football game plays in the background.
…

The food looks amazing. You got new boots; that’s enough to motivate me!
I almost forgot about my new boots! I already weather treated them. I’ll have to debut them this week.
Oh my goodness, between the pigs n blankets and the bacon I’m droolin up a storm…
Haha. That bacon appears to be woven into a blanket? Weird… but, impressive.
Wow, looks like you’ve got a lot going on this week! Hopefully it will all be fun
I have a strangely empty calendar this week an intend on keeping it that way. Quiet time, yay!
Quiet time is great motivation!
Woo hoo! I feel so famous! My knees still hurt, though.
Ha, you are super famous now. Sorry to exploit your pain to prove a point.
I knew it was Twitter when I put it out there.
Certainly not the worst way your tweets could be exploited.
Wowowow, you’re still posting one post a day! Well done. I have to come here more often for a little slice of positive attitude
I did some improv comedy when I lived in France and it was so much fun! I remember how much we laughed. I’d love to find a group here in Christchurch if I have the time.
This week, I have to find motivation to follow the news on a new level for me> read the local paper, listen to local radio, and watch the news everyday, plus a heavy dose of long form articles. Hopefully it’ll become a habit in to time.
That is a lot to take on. I’ve been trying to become the same way about “the trades” (TV industry news) but it’s impossible for me right now. As an alternative, I’m just trying to keep an eye on twitter, which is annoying in its own right.
That makes me happy that you also enjoyed improv! I hope you get a chance to do it again.
Yes, I’ve posted once a day through January. Might slow down in February. If you like the positive posts, just don’t stop by on Thursdays. That seems to be a bad day for some reason.
Good luck with the improv! That’s my nightmare come true: all eyes on me and I’m expected to perform. I could never be a show dog. Or anything else that performs in front of people.
Speaking of performers, though, I, too, am looking forward to Beyonce interrupt the Superbowl. Whoo hoo!
Ha, I have yet to actually perform in front of people, so we’ll see if I still like it after next week.
Woo! Beyonce with rumored Destiny’s Child reunion!
I would LOVE to see you do karaoke. That’s my dose of HAPPY right there! We just bought my daughter a karaoke machine for Christmas. And let me tell ya, she thinks she IS the next Beyonce!
Lol I hope she is.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to karaoke, actually. I better warm up by singing in the shower this week.
